Reply: (edit)You can extract that file off the windows 98 cd under the win98 dir. as far as newer versions i don't no but if it is a corrupt file then use sfc to pull that file off the win 98 cd and add it to c:\windows\system this will fix a corrupt file GoodLuck

Reply: (edit)I am also looking for the same file, VREDIR.VXD, dated 2001. Trying to access a file over the network I get a blue screen (Win98 as client and Win2K as server). I would really appreciate if anyone can send this file. Thank you!

Reply: (edit)I tried what Michael (Response 2) said, and it worked perfectly. Windows was missing it, i found the file by using file search on my comp with correctly installed Win98 SE and then transfered it to C:\Windows\System and windows found the file. Hope that helps anybody.

Reply: (edit)You can get the file by installing Dsclient from Windows 2000 server CD. It is in the "clients" directory under Win9x. You can then get the update by calling Microsoft and asking for hotfix for Q293793 - they will not charge for this. This will give you access to Active Directory features. The hotfix fixes problems associated with many clients requesting the same resource from a Windows 2000 server (which causes the blue screen referred to in Q293793). The vredir.vxd file off of Jason's web site pop-n-mary.com appears to be identical, although I did not do the checksum on it to compare.
