i am having problems with my computer. i had kazaa but i think a virus got thrown into my computer, everything started slowing down. i tried to run nortan anti virus 2000 virus scan but when i clicked on "run scan" an error popped up, something about that i had to uninstall then reinstall, but it said to use the backup definition disks i created on floppys. so i shut down my computer, threw the nortan program disk in, i cant remember exactly what i did. So it got to the point where i decided to wipe out my hard drive and reinstall windows 98. i got into fdisk, and went to delete primary dos, then i had to delete a partition thing and couldnt do it. the "volume lable" use to be empty, but now it has giberish in it that i cant understand. how do i fix the problem???

Hi driver forum is for people wanting driver files for such as sound card, modem, ect not for hdd , altho i can see the confusion factor. should be posted in hardware form or 9x

now for your problem you will likely need to goto the hdd manufacture web site and down load their test utility which usely has a write 0's program "it will delete all data" i think it will start at track 0 sector 0 there by deleteing all partition info. then you can run fdisk and remake partition. i do agree you had a virus.
