I just helped my friend build his computer and we have run into numerous problems.

The latest of our problems is not being able to install the nVidia video driver. Installing the driver from the disk and the exe found at the nVidia site gave us the same results. It goes into the initial setup and then stops at 50% where it's about to install the drivers. Then the screen goes black and a blinking horizontal line appears (like a text cursor). Then nothing happens after that. We have tried uninstalling any nVidia drivers and then installing the new ones, didn't work. We did have little success in safe mode installing it. But when we reboot and it loads with an 800x600 resolution then freezes about 15 seconds after windows is loaded with the video drivers installed. One time we were able to open up task manager and change the resolution to 1280x1024 and it delayed the freeze for a while. But just a few moments ago it acted up and now we are back to it freezing.

It's a 7600GT video card.
