VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP URGENT!

Fujitsu Siemens L7320GW
November 13, 2007 at 03:52:31
Specs: XP Pro, 448 MB RAM
Hi Guys

I have an urgent problem I need to sort out. The laptop (Fujitsu Siemens L7320GW) was upgraded from XP Home to XP Pro. Now the graphics is a bit messed up. The refresh rate is very delayed when scrolling through whatever window you're in.

I've tried reinstalling the graphics driver both from the Fujitsu Siemens Driver CD and from a website and a from another laptop of the same spec through shared on a mapped drive.

When I tried the CD route I got the a message to check the following log:

********** S3 GRAPHICS SETUP LOG - Started 2007/11/13 11:12:46 **********

Does anyone know how what all this means and how I can sort the graphics out? Each time I tried the installation starts but then stops and says that setup failed and to check the log in C:WINDOWS/s3iscfg.

Thanks

Hi Everyone

For those who've already had a look into this I've figure this one out just now. Under Device Manager>System Devices the VIA CPU to AGP2.0/AGP3.0 Controller needed the driver/file installed (VIAAGP1.SYS).

I copied this file from another laptop to CD and ran the 'Update Driver' and pointed it to this file on the CD.

It then installed and immediately recognised the VIA S3 Unichrome Pro IGP.

Thanks
