Hi,
Help? *s*
I have a Sony Viao Desktop PCV-RX540DS with a 1.2 INTEL celeron and i815e chipset.
The warrenty has long since expired and I need an updated bios becuase of some problems Im having with a MSI Nvidia MX-440-T8x 64 mb/gforce graphics card.

The board is obviously ASUS but none existant in their site. The TUSL2M board however has all the exact same specs.

Ive got all the sony junk, I saved it all when I first got the pc, but the auto update is only good for XP and has long since expired anyway.(I went back to WINME because of the reg-update issue/security.

I found the exact same board at INTEL with all the same specs... but am a bit apprehensive of using that bios program I downloaded cause its not award. IntelĀ® Desktop Board D815EEA/D815EPEA

Currently I have Award Medallion Bios ACPI Bios REV 1002LV
I found this and its a match (info) but cant find the BIN anywhere!
PCV-RX540DS AWA003XDAK.EXE (blk1003.bin) 10/22/2001-I815 -TUSL-LV ACPI BIOS Revision 1003LV

It refers to SONY Viao PCV-RX540DS in particular.

Sincerely, Yabut

Hi

Sorry -- Ignore that last post post, I though for a moment the 540 suggestion was wrong and you needed one for a 450.

Yep real bad if a company won't supply a dos run bios upgrade.

You might be better to contact them, and see if they can't email you one.

In our country it would be illegal to supply a product that will require third party software to be purchased. (eg XP)

Hi and thank you so much for trying.
Ive updated a few bios' before and always simply matched the chips, processor and MB.

It IS an ASUS MB.
and I have found an asus bios that matches ALL the specs.(TUSL2-M motherboard) I have a back up already of my original bios... what do you think? I think it should be fine to flash it with this.

Sincerely, Yabut
