Got a home made computer, old Athlon 2200 motherboard,
with a USB port on the front of the desttop. When I plug
anything into it, it doesn't work, and XP doesn't fix it, looking
for drivers. Any help is appreciated.

... go to My Computer R/click properties> Hardware> Device Manager, do you see any yellow marks on Universal Serial Bus Controllers?
... download this:

... extract to C:\
... go to My Computer then open C:\ drive
... open i386 folder and copy the file "devcon.exe" to C:\
... go to start> RUN type CMD [PRESS} OK
... in the black box type cd\ [PRESS ENTER]
... now type
... devcon rescan [ENTER]
... let us know!
