Reply: (edit)I switched to WXP and got my modem not working because of incompatible drivers. All I found was the name of the manufacturer - Puretek (www.puretek.com.tw) - but their drivers are only for models from 3050 up (V.92 compatible) and don't work neither in W2K, nor WXP. 3026 seems to be a USB variation of serial 3020.

Reply: (edit)I have one of those modems and i have upgraded to WXP and i have the same problem, incompatable drivers. I find it annoying on devices such as motherboards and modems that don't print their company name on it. I spent a day finding a bios upgrade for a motherboard to support 40 GB HDD, and the board is only 2 yeas old. Anyway i will not give up so expect a return message from me, i'll spent as long as it takes to find a driver.

Reply: (edit)I have exactly the same problem, but I have found out that when using Linux there is no need for a driver. I think this is very interresting - Why is it that Linux can detect the modem and install suitable driver all by itself and there is no way to install the modem in WXP? Anyone who knows how to install a generic kind of USB modem in WXP?
