Hi,
I have a Toshiba A75-S226 laptop with 3 USB 2.0 connectors. I also have a Toshiba A35-S159 laptop with 2 USB 2.0 Connectors.
Lastly, i have an external Toshiba DVD 16X Dual Layer Burner in an external case that is set for USB 2.0.
I have a Norton Ghost 2003 boot disk.
On the A35 laptop, i boot using an external USB Floppy. When i go into Ghost to create/restore an image, the external DVD burner IS an option i can select to use.
On the A75 laptop, i boot with the same USB Floppy disk using the same Ghost boot disk however, on this particular laptop, it DOES NOT see the external drive. I do not understand why. It's a more powerful laptop, it's all USB 2.0, clearly the USB is working since i was able to boot via the USB Floppy disk, however, Ghost does not see the drive.
I called Toshiba Technical Support and they said that it's a bios issue and is not supported on this model machine.
I have a hard time believing that.
Is there anyone out there that has any idea's on how i can create a drivers disk that i can use to boot to DOS and allow the system to see the drive? Then i can use Ghost.exe and it should detect the item.
Please let me know if i left anything out. I really appreciate any help anyone can provide. Thanks!
Walt
