CPU/Ram: PIII-1GHz

I have a Compaq Presario 5000, running on Windows ME, with a 06C0h Compaq MoBo.

Recently, I bought a HYNIX - PC133, 256MB SDRAM module which does not work on this Board, though it works fine on three other boards.

I was suggested to upgrade the BIOS, but I could not locate one at compaq.com. Please, help me out.

Hi

Help is available from hp support. HP owns compaq now.

I don't believe changing the bios will help though.

Upgrading bios will not help this problem.

Comcrap is FAMOUS for using "special" ram.

I WOULD NOT EVER flash a bios, unless I knew that I had a problem that flashing could fix.
