I have a PC running under XP Home which I use solely as the heart of a music-making set-up. There is no easy way for me to put it online.
I have a scrolling issue with my principal music software which I am advised by people I trust is probably a display driver issue.
My installed driver is 6.14.10.6368 for a Radeon 9200.Is there a simple way for me (a) to check whether there is an updated driver and (b) if so, download it ?
Any pointers much appreciated.
Ian Graham

Many thanks for your help.
I have followed the link, downloaded the zip file, carried it across to the off-line PC, extracted it, gone through the driver update process (Control Panel, System, Hardware etc) - and at the end of it all, got a screen saying the driver was not more recent than that already installed viz. 6.14.10.6368, date 06/07/2003.
Can that really the most recent update available?Puzzled and frustrated......

sorry...sorry
here is updated ( I think ) version
http://download.cnet.com/ATI-MOBILI... (BEST)

The first and third links give me two driver numbers that look promising, but take me to an AMD intercept page, which I've been at before, and the onward links from there will take me untlimately to their 'Catalyst' download, which has failed to work for me.
The middle link throws up a number that looks like a driver earlier than what I already have.Thankyou for your help - at least I now have two potential driver numbers. The question is: can I actually find them anywhere in a straightforward download form, not as part of a complicated survey package ?
Ian G.

yeah, you can find them --- with a little more determination
plus, I`ll look for the drivers and I`ll post if I find anything...
EDIT:
huh...I`ve found something:

Success, I think:
from

I've been able to download a package, out of which I've installed a new driver 8.252.0.0, 03/05/2006.
The 'secret', I think, (when you run the download package) is not to go with the 'easy' Catalyst pre-package but choose 'custom' which allows you to by-pass Catalyst and just select the driver. Many thanks for your help. I hope this may help others.
Oh, and it looks as if the new driver has sorted the scroll-glitch - fingers crossed.
