Hi, I am looking for a driver for Win98SE for a USB flash drive. The drive is called wdc wd800bb-00jha0, but I don't know the manufacturer. It works fine with WinXP, but Win98 asks me for a driver for a "USB Mass Storage Device". If I can't find the correct driver, is there a universal driver that would work?
Thanks xx

PS I tried the Dell memorykeydriver.zip following some advice earlier on this forum.

With W98SE you need a specific driver there is no Universal Driver available.

wdc wd800bb-00jha0 is a hard drive not a flash drive LoL! http://tinyurl.com/b7non

OK so that's embarrassing. I was looking for any details I could to help me find the maufacturer. Looked in the wrong place obviously.

Does anyone know how I can find out who manufactured the drive and where I can get the driver from? I am only connected to the internet on a XP machine, so increasing the challenge as it works fine on this one, but I need a driver for another PC.

Thanks xx

OK, one step closer.. thanks.

What am I looking for? Under device descriptor it says;
iManufacturer: 0x01 English (United States) "Generic"
iProduct: 0x02 English (United States) "Mass Storage Device"

This is hurting my brain.

It does also say;
idVendor: 0x058F = Alcor Micro, Corp.
Is that it?
