Unbranded Webcam driver for Win XP

Subject: Unbranded Webcam driver for Win XP
OS: Windows XP Home Edition
CPU/Ram: 256MB-RAM 2.8Ghz P4-CPU
Comment:
I am trying to install an unbranded webcam to my Win XP computer.
The disk that came with includes drivers which I installed but they caused a serious problem with my computer where it could not boot properly so I had to use system restore.

Does anyone know where I can get a driver for Win XP?

The only info on the box of the camera is:
VGA USB Webcam, 30Frames per second.

I think that the drivers on the disk are made by a company called Omnivision, if that helps...

Thanks,

hi there, i actually have that exact camera but also have had trouble getting drivers for it. the page that the guy above posted actually has the correct drivers for it though. Goto

http://www.ovt.com/ov_downloads.html

and download the xp drivers for the OV511 USB Camera. when u plug the camera into the pc, do not install software automatically, but select a driver from a list or specific location. click next and select the dont search i will choose the driver to install option. click next. make sure u have extracted the driver files from the zip file into a folder, then click have disk and locate the foler with the drivers in. click next again and it should dhow up "dual mode usb camera". thats the driver you want. install that one, and the little red light will light up on the camera, and should work with any video conference / webcam programs. best of luck, let me know how you get on!

-Danny
