If i plug in my device it will just power up, spins but it wont get recognized by any pc?

... do you have Service pack two installed?

"... it wont get recognized by" ... does it "not" show an "icon" or make a windows sound when you plug it in?

...If the drive isn't formatted, it won't be recognized!
