Hi Malcolm.

Toshiba's website says it's DVD roms don't need drivers in Windows XP.

However, you do need DVD viewing and burning software.

Perhaps your viewing and/or burning software have to be upgraded for Windows XP.

Go to Toshiba's website. At the bottom of this link they have links for various 3rd party viewers and burners.
