Backup any important files and get the hard drive replaced ASAP because it's about to fail.

So if I have no money to pay to fix, then my daughters computer is dead? Thanks again, and loved the sight you directed me to.

Are you talking about the WinSimple Software link in my signature? If so, I'm glad you liked it!

Anyways, it looks like your daughter will need a new hard drive, which will cost money. Is this a laptop we're talking about here? If so, you'll need to buy a 2.5" hard drive enclosure that you can use to hook her hard drive to another computer to get her files off, provided that the hard drive is in good enough shape to operate for a little longer. Does your daughter have any important stuff that she wants to keep? If not, then there's no need to get anything off of it, you'll just need to purchase a new hard drive and install it. Did the laptop come with a recovery CD? You seem to mention one in response #2. If so, you'll need to run that on the laptop after you install a new drive. If not, then you'll need a Windows XP or Install CD. If you don't have one, then you'll need to buy one. If you provide us with a model number of your daughter's computer, we'll guide you to the hard drive you need.
