Apprently my system is missing the standard VGA driver ,when attempting to upgrade my video driver ,I recieved a notice that the update could not continue without the standard VGA driver ? Does anyone know where I can go and download the VGA driver for WinMe or in which .cab file I can find it ?

The standard vga driver is what Windows uses when it cannot find the correct driver. What video card do you have? Why were you updating it? Have you got the correct 'updated' driver for your card? It should be just a case of getting the correct driver installation program & letting it do its business.

That didn't answer his question, and I'm sure he is aware that the software should "Do it's business". The standard VGA Driver is required by the system prior to setting up a new driver as it is used in the setup. Without the first the second will not work.

You could write down the driver name it is searching for and go to another pc and copy the driver and place it in the windows/system32 folder or google the file name and get a copy online. Reboot your PC and it should find that driver.

I'm in the same boat right now, and copying the file is an old but proven method.
