my sound works with some games. but it won't work with youtube and myspace anymore. and i have speakers and they are plugged in but the control panel says they are not installed my sound isn't working and i need to update my drivers.

2 weeks ago my sound was working fine and i turned my pc off then went oversease for 2 weeks i came back last night turned my computer on this morning and it would not go past the safe mode last know place start up normally screen every time i picked one it restarted the computer so i reinstalled windows xp service pack 2 and it whiped my computer as it would and works fine but i did not have my lead that goes to the moniter for sound plugged into the back of the tower at the time of instilation and now my sound does not work when its pluged in and does not work for headphones either it says that my audio deivce can not be found when i go into sound settings in control panel so what do i do
