My pc sound doesnt work

My pc's info:

Microsoft Windows xp Home 2.4Ghz

System Model: D845GLLY

Sound Card: Sigmatel c-major audio

Here's the problem:

When I go to Device Manager, my sound driver's status is This device cannot start (Code 10)

To fix it, I've tried the following:

- Restoring to the latest restore point but restoration cannot be complete

- Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver

- Roll-back but there is no driver available

- Whenever I try to install a driver from a manufacturer, it cannot be installed (it says the driver is not compatible or something and requires a CD)

So, thats basically the problem.
