How my problem started:
I had music playing on Windows Media Player 9 and then I started playing Midtown Madness. I know, in the first place, that I shouldn't have played music with the game since I only hear the in-game sounds. The music in the Windows Media Player starts and stops several times every couple of minutes.

When I stopped playing the game, I restarted my computer and the theme of my taskbar changed automatically. I changed it back, then tried playing music on Windows Media Player and I got the following message:
The file __ was expected instead of the file __ Please reinstall Windows Media Player..it is not installed correctly.

I have dial-up connection..the modem also stopped working. But, it started working when I updated the modem driver from Device Manager and then did a Roll-Back on the driver. So, it was switched to my old driver and modem started working.

When modem stopped working, I tried doing system restore several times and got the error message: System Restore Incomplete. I also tried Undo Restore..and still got the error message: Undo Restoration Incomplete.
Now my modem is working..but not my sound system..in the Device Manager, Sigmatel C-Major Audio driver shows a yellow exclamation mark (!) and its Status is This device cannot start (Code 10).

I tried restoring to the latest restore point but at my latest restore point, I still had the problems.

I have also tried the following but still the sound driver doesn't work:

- Restore doesn't work before the problem started.

- I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver.

- I have tried roll-back but there is no driver available.

Please give me any advice on what to do as I'm not that good with computers.
