Sound driver problem

My computer operating system is window xp.I just format all my data of computer including sound driver.When I install the sound driver Cmedia8738 still not sound come out from computer.I don,t know what happen.So how can I solve this problem

1-Uninstall the driver. 2-Then REBOOT. 3-After REBOOT (try to be connected on the web) the system will try to search the best driver for your OP. And will prompt that is ready to use. 4.If not, then the driver inst. wizard will try to guide you to install the Driver You have to now the location where the new driver is. Note that the driver that have maybe is not good for you OS. Try C-Media AC97. Also when you open your device manager look for a yellow ? on the devide list.
