Basically everytime i try to play anything with sound it says that no sound system is installed or something. SO i wen to the Control panel and looked at it and tried to re-install or install or update many many times.... Nothing.. So i can't find what i need to get a driver running on this stupid sound card.. It's some kind of Yamaha card i got an aptiva system with win 98 i got it in 1998 when this all came out. I just want my sound back someone please go the extra mile for me..

Need more info. What Aptiva model are you using? And any more detail on your Yamaha card would be helpful also.

I upgraded my system to Windows ME and now my sound doesn't work. RAM = 144.0

On ur device manager u can see that the sound card is installed?is there any yellow mark on it?is there any red X on it?if it is not on ur device manager then u can use add new hardware and install it ...or... u can remove the card and then install it again so when u enter to windows it will ask u for the card software.
If it is in ur device manager with a yello mark just remove it and click refresh and it will ask u for the card software.if it is there with a red X just double click on it and uncheck the (disable).
If u gave more info about ur card i would help u where from to download the driver , if u still have the cd u can use it for installation.

i also have the same problem, it is says (The driver for this device are not installed(Code 28). to reinstall the drivers for this device.) but i no longer have the cd.. where can i download installer for it... it is asking
for PCI Multimedia Audio device
