Hi Guys.
I've a problem here. My sound card is being used by other application.
Let me tell u in detail what happened.

I was going through my system & was using the data recovery software. It showed that some files have been deleted you should restore them. I was restoring files of C:\Windows\system
I restored a file, now I do not remember which one & it said that the access is denied, later after finishing with this work I tried the internet explorer.
It said that there is another program running which requires a restart. So I restart the system. After restarting I noticed some changes:
1.) While loading to the windows there was no startup sound. Though the speakers were on.
2.) I tried to run Winamp, it then displayed an error message which says:
Wave Output v2.02a error

"Another program is using your sound card. Please change output device (in wave out plug-in configuration), switch to direct sound output (in Winamp prfrences/plugins/output) or get a sound card which can play multiple streams."

Error Code: 4
Windows error message:
"MMSYSTEM004 the specified device is already in use. Wait until it is free, & then try again."

3.) The volume control icon is not there in the system tray, it is not running from the start menu programs.

4.) All devices related to sound are having this problem.

Any ideas what could it have been.

If I reinstall windows will it solve the problem.
