Comment:
I have 3 sound cards, and 98 refuses to install any.
All it will tell me is that 2 are PNP Sound CHIP and 1 is a PCI Multimedia Device. thats all nice and dandy, but how do I find out what they are to get the drivers?

Try Control Panel - Add Hardware. Some sound cards will not be detected properly if they were not in the mboard when Setup was run. If you plug them in afterwards, Windows may not find the proper drivers while booting, but Add Hardware will find them - e.g. many Creative/Soundblaster/Vibra cards. Creative/Soundblaster/Vibra cards also have obvious Model numbers printed on tne card - CTxxxx - you can look up the drivers you need on the Soundblaster sites using that number - some drivers may only be on some regional sites - e.g. Europe, USA.
