I've been looking for a driver for the above in several driver sites, however, I cannot find the exact one that I need. The card says Sound Blaster 16 CT2230. I type this in and find everything but. I'm working with an old IBM 486 and cannot get the CD-ROm to function without this driver. Can anyone help

Is this one of those soundcards where the CD-ROM is connected, rather than slaved to a HDD ? I have had troubles in the past with a similar setup. Ended up slaving to the HDD, though on that old machine there was only one IDE cable.

Is this an IBM CD-ROM ?Did you try the IBM site?
They have some SB16CD_1.EXE files on their ftp site.

There is a ribbon cable that goes from the motherboard to the Hard Drive. If it is on the end of the cable, then it is usually set for single. If there is another device ( hard drive or CD-ROM drive connected to the middle of the ribbon cable, then that device would be the "slave" and the hard drive on the end would be the "Master". There are jumpers on the hard drive and CD-ROM that need to be set accordingly. Maybe someone else can explain it better.
