Subject: Software Driver Will Not UninstallOS: Windows XP Service Pack 2CPU/Ram: 320MB |
Comment: Hello, I installed a software cd Easy CD Creater 4.0, Mfg Roxio, I found out the driver is not compatible with Windows XP so I uninstalled it. Now I'm getting a message in my start up toolbar saying Device or Applications disabled, CD recording software will cause windows to become unstable, Windows has prevented these drivers from loading. I'm lost on this. I've tryed everyplace I can think of locate the driver that I thought was uninstalled but do not see it anywhere. I ran ErrorGuard hoping that might get rid of it but had no success. Any help you can give would be great! Thanks For The Help! Stogesdriver

Reply: (edit)Hi Linda, Say that address does not work. It says your session time is up & kicks you out of your browser. But I did go to the Roxio website & in there search window I typed in uninstall Easy CD Creater 4.0 & It gave me instructions how to uninstall it. I just followed them & it took care of the problem. Thanks For The Help! Stogesdriver

Reply: (edit)Stogesdriver, Thank you for your followup post here. I have been trying to find the name of this driver for several weeks and have not been successful because the windows error message is not very specific. I had a different version of easy cd creator but the instructions on roxio worked well. For the the benefit of others here, the driver and system file must be removed if you are experiencing this message. Look for any driver from adaptec. The name of my two files were cdral.dll and cdralw2k.sys . Evidently these don't play well with xp. Mike
