Comment: im networking 2 computers and im using a hub. one computer is in the basement and the other is upstairs in a room.the connection is slow ont he 2 computers. is it because im usign long cables or theres somethin else?

Reply: (edit)Yes long cables could be the problem as signal loss can occur. To be certain move the computers next to each other using a shorter network cable and if it speeds up then it is your cable. Are your network cards and hub 100mb/s?. Go to your network properties and click configure on your network card. Under advanced>>connection type check if it is 100baset (not 10baset), Auto negotiate or something similar.
