Reply: (edit)The above mentioned is a problem, which only allows Windows 2000 to display 16 colors, as Windows 2000 is incompatible with the Sis6215c driver.
Win2k has a driver in its list "SiS 6326", which you can see in its default drivers or download from:: http://www.sis.com/support/driver/6326.htm You can use this driver in place of the Sis6215c.
This worked for my system and I could reset the display to 24-bit True Color.
