System: 600mhz w/ 133mhz bus speed +256 ram +geforce GTS deluxe, Sound Blaster Live mp3+ (Liveware 3 WinME drivers), WinME (not upgrade). My windows doesn't detect my Microsoft Sidewinder 3D pro joystick. Gives "Not connected" error. Although i can play it on CH F-16 Flight stick drivers. So it's not the joystick. It's either the gameport of the sound card or MS. Caus on microsoft.com/sidewinder/ there are no drivers for WinME. Anybody who has a suggestion is gladly recieved. Thanks

there where some update on microsoft for sidewinder 3d pro, i had the same problem on a XP-machine and the update fixed the problem

Everyone should know:
I post this now the sixth time! :(
Damn can somebody please kill Bill Gates?!?
----------------
"Not connected" update I have been testing a registry edit for Win98SE that has gotten me one step closer to solving this problem. Thought I should post this here and get input from other users and see if we can finally fix this. First, install the 3d Pro drivers. I have used both the original and version 3 for this. Now open your registry and go to "HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\mediaproperties\privateproperties\ joystick\oem\Microsoft sidewinder 3d pro". Edit the string entry "OEMCallout" and delete the value of it (MSgame.vxd) and exit. Then remove and re-add the sidewinder 3D in the game controller panel. It should show up as "OK" now. The problems I have found- W/ the 3.0 drivers, the callibration window is all messed up. W/ the original drivers, everything works fine, except you can only push one button at a time, a la CH flightstick mode. If you have any other information on this, please contact me.
-------------Registry open with: [Start] - [execute] - then write 'regedit' and OK

Thank you for this fix!!!! I now have a joystick.
The registry fix works somewhat. I tried it out and my SideWinder 3D Pro can now be recognized by Win98SE, but the old calibration driver won't calibrate properly. The throttle slider and the rudder controls are off and the POV hat only has 4 directions (new 3.02 calibration was way messed up). The Windows patch doesn't seem to affect the calibration routine.
My system.
AMD Anthalon 1800XP, Asus A7M266 MB (133 MHz bus), Win98SE
Thanks again.

Err.. My Throttle is inverted.. When I push it upwards it registers as 0 throttle, and when I slide it downwards it says full throttle. Anyone ever had this problem?!
PLz mail me.. hoffe_lord@yahoo.com
Thanks in advance

So what the hell is wrong with Windows ME that it has this problem? I've tried the regisry fix, the new vxd from microsoft, using it in Flightstick/Thrustmaster mode, and it doesn't work. In Windows 95, though, it does work. What crap has Microsoft done to break it in ME?
