Reply: (edit)Hi everybody. I found the pnp Sound Chip drivers. The term "pnp Sound Chip" is not the real name of the sound card. When I opened my Compaq Deskpro 5166, I found a big IC on the sound board named "ALS120," manufactured by Avance Logic, Inc. I don't know if every Deskpro 5166 has the same type of card. That's why I recommend you to check it before downloading. The drivers are here: http://www.realtek.com.tw/htm/download/level.asp?class1=computer 1)select ALS120 in the Sound IC's section
2)click "go"
3)choose the driver you need according to your Windows version. Bye Everybody :)

i just employ the win2000 driver and it´s running in my xp enviroment.

He encontrado el manejador para windows xp de mi targeta en el sitio ya mensionado... si eres usuario de otra version de windows existen allí innumerables opciones, la pagina esta en aleman pero al bajar los archivos estan en ingles, asi que prueba... si eres como yo un usuario de xp, solo baja el manejador para windows 2000, a mi me funciona perfecto... suerte!

Reply: (edit)If you all had better looked on the card itself you would have noticed that a pnp soundchip has an Avance Logic ALS 120 chipset so, search, with google on avance logic + drivers and you'll find the drivers for your card!!!

Reply: (edit)(1) Look at the chip of your soundcard (for example: ALS120)
(2) download the driver at:http://www.zdnet.de/treiber/hs_prd/asound_sound-wc.html
(3) open in C:\Windows\Temp or whereever your System is.
(4) actualize your pnp sound chips with Path like in 3) p.s. if your PC says cand find the file .... on the 98CD give in the same path like in (3)

Reply: (edit)Pnp sound chip is just a chip not a certain driver for your card. You can look in your system info what card is in the PCI there you need the driver from!!!!
