Comment: I have a LEXMARK 7000 Printer and am attempting to install/add a LEXMARK 63X printer , fax, scanner or a Visioneer One Touch Scanner. Both cause my USB port to shut down when I install the USB cable and attempt to load drivers.

Reply: (edit)I would connect the USB to the device then turn the computer on and let it load the necessary software and drivers.
