Comment:

I have recently purchased a Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Digital OEM. Because the product is OEM it was not shipped with any drivers or anything other then the card itself. Now I have come to installing the card. I went onto the Creative Drivers website and selected my soundcard from the list and Windows XP, downlaod the drivers there, but when I came to install them it said:

"Setup could not detect any Soundblaster Live! hardware... Please ensure it is properly installed..."

Make sure its properly installed!? I haven't been able to install you stupid program! - you are meant to install it for me!

If the programs means that I should makesure my soundcard is connected correctly then I've done that and tested it, my computer knows its there but doesn't know how the hell to use it...

Anyway, basically I need to get a hold of the INSTALL drivers (what should have come on a CD) for my Creative Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Digital soundcard, NOT updates for drivers!

Please Help!!!

I have the same problem. I`ve sent email to Creative support center or smth like that.
They answered me that this product is OEM/BULK and they are not responsible for any problems. those cards are not tested with creative software and are not suppurted by Creative. Only seller is responsible for good drivers etc. IS THAT NOT CRAZY THATHARDWARE MANUFACTURER IS SUDDENLY NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR CARD COMPABILITY AND FUNCTIONALITY ONLY BECAUSE WE DONT WANT TO PAY FOR THE BOX??????
