Hello,

I wonder if you could possibly point me in the direction of a source for the Sata drivers for the ASROCK 775i65G motherboard? I wish to add a Sata drive and Install Windows XP home on it but I believe I need the Sata drivers first. I have been to the ASROCK site but could not se any for that mobo.

Many thanks

Mr Gerald Bramwell.

Hi,

I have been told that the Sata driver should be a text file. I have asked ASROCK support for help over a week ago but not yet heard a reply. I have downloaded all the files I can see for the 775i65G motherboard but none of them mention a Sata driver.

... sorry I provided incorrect link...please look here:

... the other link was for "bios flash"; but stated "Patch WD740ADFD 74G SATA HDD."...(linked from other search source)

http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.a...

... here is the link to download the manual for that motherboard, there is a sata section.

Thanks,

I have already got all those to keep as a backup but there dosen't seem to be any Sata drivers there. I have been in touch with the ASROCK tech support over a week ago, got a automated reply saying I would hear from them in 2 days, still not heard anything.

There are several ways to search drivers for SATA. Look up the drivers for you chipset. Just physically take a look at the numbers on the chipset of the motherboard and punch them in google.
Or you can go to BIOS and set the discovery of the drives to be in IDE aka ATA aka PATA mode, than all you sata drives will not require drivers but will work on 150 mb/s mode instead of 300 mb/s.

I have run Belarc Advisor and it showed me that the board has Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers, could those be the SATA controlesr?
