Call me Mr Thickly but I don’t really know much about hardware ok!

Is it ok to run the AMD64 with the garden version of XP; as the XP OS will run all my hardware as there are 32 bit drivers out there for the XP OS to use…

Its only when I use a 64 bit OS platform, be it XP 64 bit or Linux 64 bit will I have problems running my software as there is little support for 64 bit drivers at the moment! Yes?

I really need to know this as I'm buying/building a new computer and I need run all the stuff you would normally get on a desktop without any problems.

Many thanks Phill
