I recently formatted by windows xp and installed windows 98 se. Then, i installed the display driver. After that I have a rockwell internal modem and so i installed the proper driver. It worked fine for 15 days. One fine day, the modem stopped responding. Due to many complications, i re-formatted the machine and followed the same above process. But now, after installing the modem driver, and rebooting its says, that the display driver conflicts with some other device. If i remove the modem driver, then the display driver works properly with proper colours.

How come such a conflict because i was using the same display driver and the same modem driver previously withour any problem for 15 days.Previously, my modem was installed on COM3 automatically. I did not installed the modem at COM3 manually. But now COM3 does not show up at all...even after installing the modem driver. The computer does not detect COM3.

Please help me. I and my computer are in a BIG mess.

Rgds,
Sumit Shah.
