Comment: After attempting to play Winamp I got an error that my drivers needed updating, but I fixed that error, because winamp somehow was using the wrong 'device.' (I have no other sound devices). This has happened a few times before even after a complete reformat. And not always with winamp, but win media. The last time it happened was about a week ago, but then I updated some windows stuff/vid drivers/ restarted and it fixed it, but before that when I restarted my comp wouldn't start up and had to reformat. The only thing I can think of would be to update the drivers, but i'm not quite sure where to get them, or which ones I need. In the windows update manager it shows no updates needed for my sound device. Any help solving and preventing this annoying problem is very appreciated. Thanks.

Reply: (edit)Go to: http://hp.com Click on Support & Drivers Type in your OS and download. I had to download the same driver on February 04, 2004, when I did new installation from Windows XP Home Edition to Windows XP Professional.
