i have a windows xp machine with a pentium processor. the problem is that each time i boot my machine, the cd drive ejects itself irrespective of a cd being loaded or not.

any help ?

May be, there is an Entry in your Autostart or in the Registry RUNs, that causes the problem.
Already checked that?

I had same problem with my older H-P 9300. It would open if asked or not.

Then one day, about two months later, it never opened up again.

Worked good while it did. Now sitting in closet.

Wm.
