I am so confused. I installed a chip in my computer for more memory, but when I look at the computers memory it hasn't changed. Do I have to install somthing or did I do it right?

First I'd check to see if the ram is correct. I have had to remove two seemingly correct 168pin simms this week as they were single sided, not double as required by the SONY VAIO. They were also not physically the same size (height) as the ram already in the pc. They fit into the slot but would not work.
