Comment:
I have a 16MB Flash Drive. When I insert it into the USB port, the computer recognizes it, but I cannot use it. I used a different flash drive, and it worked fine.
It said there was a malfunction with it and it needs to be replaced. I've tried on several computers, so I'm pretty sure it's broken.
My question is: Is there any way that the data on the drive can be recovered? Can I take it to a computer repair shop or anything?
How long ago did you purchase this drive ? It should have a 1 year warranty, so you need to make them aware of the situation, and see what kind of response you recieve. I purchased a PNY Thumb Drive 256M.B. and even though on the package it said for WinMe and WinXP, it would plug and play, in my case that did not happen. The add new hardware wizard prompted me to extract certain drivers needed to complete the install. The drivers where located in .cab files on my hard drive ! Good Luck Nick
