Comment:

I recently had a new motherboard (ASRock K7VM2)and CPU (AMD Athlon 2000+ XP)put together, along with a new HD (Maxtor 40 gig 7200 rpm). After installing XP Pro, I tried installing the drivers for the integrated audio/video/lan etc. The audio and lan drivers work fine, but after rebooting when I finish installing the video driver, I cannot see anything after the splash screen. I'm pretty sure windows continues to run as normal, I just get a black screen. I've reinstalled windows three times and do not look forward to doing it again. Anybody know what I can do to fix this?

Have you tried clearing your CMOS? That may do it for you. Just be careful if you have never done it before or you can ruin your mobo. Look in your manual for clearing CMOS.
