Subject: Problem installing Soundblaster drivers
Comment:

I have just had my first go at installing drivers. My sound card is Soundblaster Audio PCI 128 - I downloaded the up to date driver from the website. All you had to do was click on it for it to install itself - but when I look under device manager, driver date, instead of getting the date of the latest driver (01-02-2002) I get 8-15-2000. What have I done wrong?

Nothin' done wrong, except to read the date on the dos driver section, That's what the legacy bit is about. Other files will have older and newer dates as not ALL file in an upgrade pack are always re-dated.
I just installed the same card using the CD that came with it then D/Led the update, can't say i hear any differance, but not gonna go through all the files in the drivers list to find a bit to squawk about.

I have trouble to install Creative's latest soundblaster Live! 5.1 drivers..
I use WinXP, & it gives me the error message under the setup...

Error message = AppName: _ins5576._mp AppVer: 5.53.168.0 ModName: pfmod.dll
ModVer: 0.5.3.9 Offset: 000079e7

Does anyone else get this error?

While installing new Soundblaster PSIi28 driver, I keep getting an old Microsoft driver. I don't have any evidence that the new creative driver was ever installed. Anyone know what the name of the files are. I have both the Soundblaster and my graphics card at the same IRQ but no conflicts and haven't been able to change one. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Soundblaster PCI 128. I just re-formatted my computer and installed Win98SE but it can't find my soundcard! under "System" is says "Unknown Audio Device". When i try to download the drivers from the creative webpage i can't some installation program, i run it, it tells me the drivers are updated and that i should restart my computer. However, when i do that, i still don't have any sound! What am i doing wrong?
