Printer Driver will not load

My computer will not load any printer driver. I have tried to install from disk and web site. I have tried to load other printer driver. I have reinstalled the USB driver that the HP Photosmart 7760 printer is attached to but still no driver will install. My computer recognizes the hardware but it will not list the printer or ANY printer in the print folder. In Device manager it has an Icon for the printer with a Yellow exclemation point. When I go into properties it tells me driver is not installed (code 28). I tried to reinstall the driver but no luck.
