Comment: I didn't have a restore cd so I loaded widnows from a Standard XP pro CD. Now I can't seem to get any Drivers for the Ethernet =(. The exact PC model is a Compaq Presario 8000 8LSXE1, but the compaq/hp web site has no drivers for the ethernet. ?? Any help/Ideas? Thanks.

Reply: (edit)HP's web site doesn't even list a NIC in their parts list. Do you know what it is or who made it? Is it built-in to the motherboard? Run the Device Manager and tell us something about the card. Chances are there are drivers on the OEM website you could use.

Reply: (edit)I'm having the same problem on a presario S6000NX running windows 98. I ran Belarc's advisor, but I failed to recognize where exactly the ethernet hardware is displayed. Nothing is displayed under Network Connections, which is where I assumed it would be.
