I purchased my laptop July 1999. I have had to use the "restore" cd's twice. On the third time , the computer just shut down, would not recognize the cdrom . It would only start up in a dos screen.Also got messages that there was no operating system. So I installed DOS 6.22 so that I could install a generic cdrom driver so I could also install win98. So I guess I have a compaq reformatted to ???? I dont know what video driver I need ,so I onlty have 16 bit color. It shows no modem installed. Help!!! I need lots of drivers!!! COMPAQ website is NO HELP!!!-

for the drivers and rompaqs look here http://www29.compaq.com/falco/sp_result.asp?Model=1996&Os=8 for the documentation , manuals etc... look here http://www29.compaq.com/falco/doc_result.asp?Model=1996&Os=8 you should be able to figure out the display addapter driver from the manual
