Reply: (edit)I have a Compaq 7000us that has a CDD 4801. I also had those problems, and now it will not recognize any disc that I put into the drive. Did you find any info? I'll keep you informed if I find out anything. jsauer2@charter.net

Reply: (edit)I'M having the same problem with the 4801. I have found drivers for the the Philips. However, I've discovered that you must have the correct Version Number. This is expressed as VC 2.0; VC 2.2; VC 2.5. I have found the drivers for VC 2.0 and VC 2.5 but I need VC 2.2. I found one link that had the VC 2.2 but it was a broken link. Can anyone out there help me? Glenn catsfuryou@yahoo.com
