You can keep your pci 288 it will works just fine with XP. There is a driver that works with XP, an other version that looks like the one for Win98 but it is different and it works. I have uploaded this driver on Google under the name of PCI288.zip (2 files)

My aztech pci 288 q3d II works on xp now i never thought that mp3s would sound so nice in xp its not the official driver but the driver for the trident NX chipset for win 2k but it works in xp for me the magic URL is http://www.hoontech.com/english/download/soundcards.html#nx choose the SoundTrack Digital 4DWave NX and then the driver for win 2k unzip it in a dir and reinstal the sound card by redirecting it to the dir it works for me!!!!!!!

So when I upgrade to XP where do I have to place these two files in order to get my soundcard to work???

just download drivers from hoontech web site unzip two files in it, open computer management (right client to my computer and select manage), enter to device manager, if any sound card driver is already installed : rightclick the old driver select uninstall, and restart just to be sure.
When asked for drivers show the directory with the inf file you've already extracted from the zip file. thats it.

Hi,
I've downloaded the mentioned driver for the Aztech PCI 288 Q3D soundcard and installed it on Windows 2000. Now I can hear the .cda tracks, but I can't hear the .mp3, .wav etc. files. What's going on???? I have tried Winamp and Windows Media Player.
Please, help me.
