I have a CR-581-M Matsus---a-Kotobuki (Panasonic) CD-ROM driver on my PC. I recently installed Win/98 and installed the CD driver from Panasonic's website. However, when installing the driver, it does not recognize the device.
Any suggestions?
thanks!

Usually windows does not have trouble finding the cdrom. Does device manager show any problems. Does the cdrom work with a windows 98 boot disk? Just trying to verify if the computer detects the cdrom on bootup.

i have installed windows 2000 professional and my cdrom cr-581 can read data cd's but no audio cd's in any format are read...
can u help me please....or can u locate the site for device driver for cr-581 supporting win2k...
thanx

1. There is a bug (and a fix) for the audio problem. I had the same problem in Windows 95/98 and downloaded a patch SCSI1HLP.exe from http://www.duiops.net/windows/parches/parches.htm
- Copy the file SCSI1HLP.exe into an empty folder, and run SCSI1HLP.exe to expand the contents into the folder.
- Using Windows Explorer, locate the file SCSI1HLP.INF in this folder, secondary-click on the file SCSI1HLP.INF, and choose Install2. Same problem as the original message with the panasonic driver, but after switching the IDE for hard disk and cd-rom. It works with the boot disk and I have an error in system manager (the IDE part), but removing and reinstalling IDE gives the same error.
So Mo, you're not alone! If you have solved this problem, please let me know.
