Can anyone please tell me where to download drivers for a Packard Bell 486. I really need the CD rom and sound. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could send them to me or tell me where to download them. Thanks!!!

Try going to the website:
www.priorityonesupport.com
Register for free.
Drivers for some of the older stuff is there.
You can enter your serial number of the machine and find out what was in the unit when it left the factory. Also, you can try the newsgroup:
alt.sys.pc-clone.packardbell
Lots of friendly, smart people there.
Be sure to post with more specific information, such as motherboard model number ( found on the priority site ), and what soundcard model, CD-ROM model, etc.A couple of other good sites ( but some of their links are to the old PB support site) are:
http://pages.infinit.net/velix/packardbell.htm
or
http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Lakes/8774/index.htmlGood luck.
TnTDo you have the Master CD that came with the machine ? I am assuming you are working with a CD-ROM that is connected to a soundcard and not the hard drive IDE ?

I am trying to fix a computer for my friend and I formatted the C: drive without knowing that you needed the master cd and boot disk or whatever they are. Well needless to say she doesn't have them anymore and when I try to boot up with the win95 bootdisk, it cannot find the cd rom to load the drivers. It is one that is connected to the sound card. The model # that I see is pb441ta. Can anyone help with getting the stupid master cd and boot disks?
Thanks,
Phil
