Anyone know where I could get an old "Wang Laboratories,Inc." monitor driver for a 1413 model? I've searched for a month with no luck. I've contacted Wang Laboratories, installed generic standard VGA drivers,
adjusted the color settings to the lowest resolutions --- nothing works.
I've been to the Drivers Guide and WinDrivers.com -- nothing there.I'm trying to get an older computer, Windows 95, up and running and all I need is the Wang monitor to work.
The monitor works beautiful when booting up, and the Win95 splash screen is
beautiful, until Windows is fully loaded -- then the picture goes haywire.
Anyone who knows where I can find ANY Wang monitor drivers, please let me know.
Thank you.Nancy

My first question is are you sure this is a problem with your monitor driver? Maybe a video driver problem. What happens to the picture when it goes haywire? Is it unusable?

Dave,
I think you might be right about it being a video driver.
The picture is totally unusable.
It is such a good picture when the splash screen for Windows 95 appears, then after Windows loads.... you know how older TVs have a vertcle and horizontal hold control?
Well, it kind of has that affect when a verticle hold button is way off.
I have used old monitors before and never had this kind of problem before. The generic drivers always seemed to be adequate.I tried the monitor on my Windows Me, Pentium 3 computer, and the same exact thing happened. (I had lowered the resolution ahead of time)
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks.Nancy

Hi Nancy...
I got the same symptoms as you did...
Boy... Am I glad I am not the only one with the Wang problem! I just tried to help a friend set up their computer tonight (Wang Monitor with Multi-Media by Packard Bell CPU)I knew as soon as I switched from the 640x480 display setting to 800x600 I had blown it. Yes...a very bad Vertical and Horizontal Hold pattern...fast too! I tried everyway in the world to get it back to the 640x480 but there weren't any settings in the BIOS and I couldn't get into the SYSTEM.INI to make the changes through the MS-DOS window (SAFE MODE Re:F8-3) If anyone out there has a cure please let me know too..

I have been having the worst time getting VNC on a win2k server. It has an old Wang Monitor (mod 1457) from 1991, and I have tried everything. I am beginning to think it is the monitor... anybody come across any drivers?

I have a Wang 1413 monitor. It will not work with Windows 95 or 98 looks like the monitor is bad............BUT wait......it works great with my W2K Server or W2K Pro....
I know it is NOT the monitor.......therefore, it must be the driver? Has anyone found one yet?

Nancy,
I just lost my monitor and as a temporary fix I replaced it with my old Wang 1413 monitor. It works great with Windows 98. The only problem is getting used to 640 X 480 resolution with 256 colors. I am using
an ATI Graphics Pro Turbo PCI graphics card. Driver comes on standard Windows 98 CD or from MSN site.Your monitor should work if you set your display up for 256 colors with 640 X 480 resolution.
However, I was looking for specs on the Wang 1413. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
