I recently had to reformat my computer, and now I have no sound coming from my speakers.
It's not the speakers, and it's all sounds that don't play.
I figure it's the audio drivers that got removed when the computer was reformatted.
I also cleaned out the inside of my computer before I reformatted it and I thought I might have knocked something loose, but everyone I talk to says they don't think that's the case.I checked "Sounds and Audio Devices" in the control panel, and "Sound, video and game controllers" in the Device Manager.
In the device manager I see "C-Media High Definition Audio Device" and "Legacy Audio Drivers" along with some other devices under "sound, video etc..."
None of these have the exclamation point "!" or red X next to them.
When I right click on them and go to properties it say's they are both working.
"This device is working properly."I also have "Device Usage" enabled on both.
But when I look in "Sounds and Audio Devices" it says there's "No Audio Device" and I can't touch any of the controls in the Audio and Video tabs. They all say "No Playback Devices", "No Recording Devices", "No MIDI Playback Devices".
I've asked around a few places for some advice, and most people tell me that it's a drivers problem, but they can't tell me what drivers I need to download.
As far as I know my computer didn't come with a drivers disc.
I looked around and found 2 discs that came with it: Application and Support Disc, and Operating System Installation CD.Sound Card: C-Media High Definition Audio Device
Thanks for any help.
