So computer was not acting up to par so we purchased a new vista kit so we could wipe our computer...we put the cd in went through the steps...halfway through it says that it couldn't continue and restarted the computer. When we've tried to do it again, the computer is saying that there is no drives on the computer(it erased them the last time)...so i went to the sony website and finally found all drivers. I put them on an external and tried to open them during the vista install and it will not let me. HELP! How do I install these drivers if the computer doesn't bring up anything but a black screen? Do I need to go and install them in the command prompt? I have a Sony Vaio Laptop and there are no computer stores around (my husband is in the military and we are stationed on a tiny island)

... when you turn it "on" keep tapping the "F8" key
... do you see any prompts?
Grrrr

yes...it asked if we wanted to start the computer in safe mode and all those other ones...went to safe mode and then it just listed all these drivers.....but the computer is still not working and will not allow us to install vista on it. When we go through the process it says please pick a driver or install a new driver?

"... all those other ones..."
... why did you select safe mode?
... was'nt there a "repair" option?
